Net Split#

The Net Split feature in JITX allows you to visually divide a net by splitting it on a wire. Note that this operation does not change the underlying net list.

Steps to Split a Net#

  1. Select a Wire: Click on the wire where you want to split the net.

  2. Split: Press Z or Delete.

Behavior#

The behavior of the Net Split operation depends on the current attributes of the net:

  • No Net Label Present: When the net has no label, splitting the wire adds two new net labels.

  • One Net Label Present: When the net already has one label, splitting the wire adds one new net label.

  • Only Connected to a Net Label: If one side of the wire connects only to a net label, the wire cannot be split, as this would create a subcircuit consisting of two identical labels connected to each other.
