Live session scripts#

These scripts accompany JITX AI Agent Integration and Interactive Design Sessions. Run them in a JITX project with a persistent design session.

Copy the five .py files into the project root and run commands there with the project environment active. Replace mypkg.main.MyDesign with the name reported by jitx design find.

Start with inspect_layout.py. An inspection path such as circuit.u1 maps to rd.root.circuit.u1 in Python; these names come from the project source. Replace the example paths before running the edit scripts. Review all coordinates for the actual board.

Script	Operation
inspect_layout.py	Wait, capture, and report component placements and physical-design issues.
place_component.py	Place `circuit.u1` at `(10, 5)` mm, 90 degrees, top side.
batch_place.py	Place `circuit.u1` at `(10, 5)` mm, 90 degrees, top side, and `circuit.u2` at `(0, -12)` mm, 0 degrees, bottom side.
async_place.py	Place `circuit.u1` at `(-10, 0)` mm, 0 degrees, top side.
monitor_move.py	Place `circuit.u1` at `(5, 5)` mm, 0 degrees, top side, while printing placement notifications.

Run a baseline inspection, the selected edit, and another inspection:

Substitute another reviewed edit script for place_component.py as needed. Every edit script checks the wait result, captures again, and returns issue completeness and error count. Compare the fresh captured placement and issue report with the baseline. A timeout can occur after an edit has applied; inspect before retrying.
